Laurus Travel is not a mass producer and we do not sell through agents. We are a small boutique tour operator serving a well defined demographics.
The great majority of our travellers are upper-middle-class retirees including former business executives and white-collar professionals (physicians, attorneys, engineers, accountants etc.). These consumers are not among the most enthusiastic in sharing their thoughts with strangers in public domains.
Below is a perfect example to make our point. The retired white-collar professional had this to say when we asked him whether he’d like to share his thoughts with others about his recent trip with Laurus Travel:

From: Alton I—— We were pleased with our China tour experience with Laurus Travel. We will certainly use Laurus again when we travel to Asia. I did take the time to compose a complimentary review. Unfortunately, when I attempted to submit my Laurus review to Google, Trip Advisor, Yelp, Facebook, etc, each service requires the reviewer to set up an account and then sign-in to that account before the vendor will accept the review.I do not participate in social media. I have no social media apps or accounts and have no desire to create any. My contribution to modernity consists of an email account and a cell phone where I do nothing beyond initiating and receiving calls. I am unable to write a Laurus review without first setting up social media accounts which I don’t want to do. Alton I |
The guests may not talk about us online, but they more than make it up to us with their loyalty. Not only do they keep coming back, but they also refer lots of business to us, which is why we have been doing really well without advertising.
Most consumers may say nothing when they are satisfied with a business. But, when they are let down, they generally would make an effort to air their displeasure in public. If you use the non-existence of damning reviews on Laurus Travel as a yardstick to measure our performance, you probably would conclude that Laurus Travel must have been doing something right all these years.
Happy travels!
