We have helped many passengers transiting through Beijing visit the Great Wall. We can pick you up at the airport on your arrival and take you to the Great Wall right away. When the tour is finished, we’ll drop you off at your hotel or the airport according to your preference.

We offer private guided Great Wall day tours to various sections of the Great Wall around Beijing including Mutianyu, Jinshanling, Jiankou, Gubeikou, Simatai and Badaling. Our tour packages include transportation, admission charges, cable car rides, hot lunch in a nice and clean restaurant, hiking on the Great Wall up to 4 hours, the service of an experienced and knowledgeable guide with superb English and personality. On request, we can also arrange private excursions to other sections of the Great Wall not mentioned above such as Juyongguan and Huangyaguan, whether it is for day-long hiking or general sightseeing.

Great Wall of China Day Tour Itinerary

Your guide and driver will come to pick you up at your hotel at 7:30 AM for the excursion to the legendary Great Wall at Mutianyu, 75km northeast of the city. Zigzagging over 6,000 kilometres from east to west along the undulating mountains, the Great Wall was built to hold off tribal invaders from the north. Construction of the earliest sections of the Wall started in the 7th century B.C. A major renovation started with the founding of the Ming Dynasty in 1368 and took 200 years to complete. The wall we see today in Beijing is almost exactly the result of this effort.

If you like, you may hike the Wall for up to four hours. We won’t rush you because unlike so many other local tour operators we won’t take you to tourist stores or factories while you are in our care. If you are in perfect shape and wish to turn the excursion into a full blown hike, the guide can hike with you all the way to Jiankou section. But this requires you to leave the hotel before 7:00 AM and pay $50 to $100 extra per person depending on the number in your party.

Price is based on the size of your party and specific requirements. Contact us for a price quote.

Great Wall of China Day Tour Review

I want to let you know how very pleased we were with our experience at the Great Wall. I coordinated the trip on behalf of 15 of my fellow Duke Global Executive MBA classmates, a well-traveled, educated and generally very discerning group. There wasn’t a single person in the group who was disappointed with our day. Mr. Li Min was a fantastic tour guide. He went out of his way the night before our trip to stop by the hotel and leave a message for our group to start the coordination. The fact that you were willing to pick half the group up at the airport saved us considerable time and headache. Li was prompt, as friendly as could be and very well spoken. Overall the experience was an A+!

Thanks for everything,
