Best Time to Visit Japan
The best time to travel to Japan depends on your preferences and the specific experiences you’re looking for. Japan has distinct seasons, and each season has its own charm.
In general, the best time to visit Japan is during spring (March to May) and autumn (early October to early December), when the weather is mild, the landscapes are vibrant, and there are many cultural events like cherry blossom viewings and fall festivals. These periods offer comfortable temperatures for sightseeing, lower humidity compared to summer, and notably beautiful scenery. However, these are also peak tourist seasons, so expect larger crowds and higher accommodation costs.
Japan has many public holidays. The one you should avoid at all cost is the Golden Week holiday in the first week of May. That’s when tour attractions experience extreme crowding and hotels become more expensive. Train tickets and airfares if available also costs much more than normal.
