What’s the best time to visit China?
That’s a question put to us a lot.
The best time to visit China depends on the regions you plan to explore and your travel preferences. Generally, the best seasons are spring (April–May) and autumn (September–October) because of the comfortable temperatures and beautiful scenery.

✅ Best Seasons to Visit China
Spring (April–May) & Autumn (September–October)
Mild temperatures, blooming flowers, and fewer crowds compared to summer. Great for sightseeing and outdoor activities.
Autumn (September–October)
Clear skies, crisp air, and stunning fall foliage, especially in places like Jiuzhaigou, the Great Wall, and Beijing.

Golden Week (October 1–7)
China’s National Holiday leads to heavy domestic travel, making popular destinations extremely crowded.
Chinese New Year (late January–February, varies by year)
A fascinating cultural experience, but expect crowded transport and many businesses closing.
