Our schedule today includes Dutch Square, Jonker Street, St. Paul’s Hill, and Baba & Nyonya Heritage Museum.
Day 6: Malacca – Cameron Highlands (B/L/D)
This morning, we drive northbound towards Cameron Highlands. After a light lunch in Kuala Lumpur, we continue our overland journey.
Cameron Highlands offers a refreshing escape with its cool climate and lush landscapes. It was named after William Cameron, a British surveyor who came here in 1885 on an expedition. It was later developed as a hill station and agricultural area, particularly for tea plantations, during the British colonial period. The area was initially intended as a refuge from the heat and a sanatorium for homesick Britons. Famous for vast tea plantations and charming colonial heritage sites, Cameron Highlands is an idyllic destination for nature lovers, hikers, and those seeking tranquility amid scenic hills.
Day 7: Cameron Highlands (B/L)
Our full-day guided sightseeing brings us to local markets, waterfalls, serene gardens, and Mossy Forest.
Day 8: Cameron Highlands – Penang (B/L/D)
Free morning to relax or explore on your own.
The afternoon drive to Penang after lunch takes four hours including one or two washroom stops.
Penang Island forms part of the state of Penang, whose capital is George Town on the island. George Town is known for its British colonial architecture, diverse cultural influences (Malay, Chinese, Indian), and delicious food. Celebrated as a living museum, George Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site, offering a diverse range of attractions.
Day 9: Penang (B)
Our sightseeing today includes Armenian Street, Blue Mansion, Kek Lok Si Temple, and Penang Hill. Sampling famous street food is another highlight.
Day 10: Penang – Kuching (B/L/D)
Free morning to explore on your own. The afternoon flight to Kuching takes two hours.
The capital of Sarawak state, Kuching is a captivating city with a rich history and vibrant cultural heritage. Founded in 1827 under the Bruneian Empire, it became the capital of the Kingdom of Sarawak under the Brooke dynasty, known as the White Rajahs, who shaped much of its development. The city blends Malay, Chinese, and indigenous Dayak cultures, reflected in its charming colonial architecture and vibrant neighborhoods like Chinatown and the historic Main Bazaar. Major landmarks include the Astana palace, Fort Margherita, and the Sarawak State Museum. Kuching is also famed for its gastronomy and proximity to natural attractions like Bako National Park.
Day 11: Kuching (B/L)
Our morning visit to Semenggoh Wildlife Centre coincides with the orangutan feeding between 9 to 10 AM.
Located about 24 km from Kuching, Semenggoh Wildlife Centre is a renowned sanctuary primarily dedicated to the rehabilitation and conservation of orangutans that were previously kept as pets, orphaned, or injured. Established in 1975, the centre originally focused on rescuing and reintegrating orangutans into the wild, but now primarily serves as a sanctuary and research facility for a thriving population of over 20 semi-wild orangutans who roam the 653-hectare Semenggoh Nature Reserve.
Visitors to Semenggoh can observe orangutans in a natural setting, especially during the twice-daily feeding times (9–10am and 3–4pm), when these semi-wild apes may return to feeding platforms near the visitor area. While sightings are not guaranteed — especially during fruiting season, when wild food is plentiful — Semenggoh remains one of the best places in Borneo to observe orangutans up close. The centre also supports other wildlife, including gibbons, squirrels, and various bird species.
Sightseeing back in the city takes place at Sarawak Museum.
Day 12: Kuching (B/L)
We set off early in the morning for a day trip to Bako National Park located 30 km (40 minutes by driving) to the northeast of Kuching. Established in 1957, it is the oldest national park in Sarawak and covers an area of 27.27 square kilometres at the tip of the Muara Tebas peninsula at the mouth of the Bako and Kuching Rivers. The national park is a popular destination for day trips and offers a variety of hiking trails, wildlife viewing opportunities, and scenic beaches, making it a great introduction to the natural wonders of Borneo.
Day 13: Kuching – Singapore (B)
Explore Kuching’s heritage zone and local markets before boarding a late afternoon or evening flight to Singapore (1 hour 30 minutes).
Day 14: Singapore (B/D)
The guided sightseeing today begins at Downtown Core. This is where Singapore’s modern history began when Stamford Raffles and representatives of the British East India Company landed here. The iconic Merlion statue and city skyline from here offer great photo opportunities.
We then proceed to Gardens by the Bay, a park spanning 101 hectares of reclaimed land adjacent to the Marina Reservoir. The extraordinary project brings to life the vision of the Government of Singapore to make the island city-state a “City in a Garden”.
Afterwards, we explore the historic Chinatown.
We wrap up today’s sightseeing with a tour of Singapore Botanic Gardens – a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The guided sightseeing today lasts between 7 and 8 hours including lunchtime (lunch not included) beginning with hotel pick-up at 9:00 AM. Depending on group size, we may get around by taxi and subway instead of chartered vehicle.
Day 15: Singapore – Home city (B)
Your tour of Malaysia and Singapore concludes this morning. Your transfer to the airport is not included. Depending on the location of the hotel and traffic condition, the cab fare can be anywhere between 20 and 30 Singapore dollars – one Singapore dollar equals approximately 0.80 USD or less.
